Miles Briggs MSP

Miles Briggs, MSP for Lothian, is encouraging third sector and public sector organisations in Lothian to consider applying for grants from a new Big Lottery Fund programme launched today. The Early Action System Change fund will make grants to help bring local public and third sector organisations together to redesign and re-organise services and test new approaches that make early action central to their work. The scheme will focus on funding initiatives based on three themes: healthy and active lifestyles, children, young people and families, and women and criminal justice.

Speaking today Miles Briggs said:

“I welcome the launch of the Early Action System Change programme and hope that many local public sector and third sector organisations across Lothian will apply for funding support from the scheme.

“Early intervention in areas like health, for example supporting healthy diets and promoting active lifestyles, is incredibly important and can ease pressure on public spending and demand for services in the long term.

“Collaboration between the voluntary sector and the public sector is critical to the success of early action and intervention and I hope this programme will encourage more joint initiatives in this area.”
