Miles Briggs

Lothian MSP, Miles Briggs, has accused the Labour / SNP run Edinburgh City Council of leaving the capital in a mess.

Mr Briggs has said that between the introduction of Spaces for People, more roadworks than ever and the spread of weeds across the city, that the Council is not fulfilling its responsibility of looking after the city.

The proliferation of weeds across the capital is the latest concern for the upkeep of the City, with a noticeable increase of residents contacting Mr Briggs to highlight the growing problem.

Concerns have also been raised about weeds that are underlining the pavement cement, adding to future maintenance cost issues.

Lothian MSP, Miles Briggs, said: “The pavements around Edinburgh are in a terrible states with weeds everywhere and uneven paving slabs wherever you walk. “Edinburgh is a beautiful city, but Labour and SNP Councillors who run the council, are failing in their duty to preserve the city for local residents and people who are visiting."

“We are in need of a change to who runs the council, to reverse the damage done by the current administration and clean up the city.

“Labour / SNP run Edinburgh City Council have left the Capital looking like something out of the film The Day of the Triffids.”
