Road-work disruption on Milton Road East.

Callum Laidlaw

The ongoing road-works on Milton Road East and Brunstane Road are causing severe disruption for many residents and not just those in the immediate vicinity. Access to Milton Road East, Gilberstoun, Brunstane Crescent and Bank now involves driving along Portobello High Street and Joppa Road, substantially increasing journey times and congestion. This restricts not only residents and their visitors but also those visiting the Kings Manor hotel, Edinburgh College and from picking up and dropping off at Brunstane station.

Commenting Callum said:

“Major road-works are not only a severe disruption but can have an economic impact too as businesses suffer and residents find getting to work more of a challenge. The timescale for these road works has already over-run and if I am elected I would like to see the council do more to keep residents informed of progress, keep to timetables and look at how to better minimise disruption.”
